Oct. 10, 2019 — It was a week that saw the Kurdish people betrayed, and two shady associates of the president’s personal lawyer arrested at an airport.

On Sunday evening, Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces would be withdrawn from Syria, effectively abandoning the United States’ Kurdish allies (who actually deserve considerable credit in the battle against the Islamic State), giving Turkey the greenlight to use military force in the region.

Republican Congressional members, for the most part, were not happy with Trump’s decision — and that may not bode well for him as the House of Representatives move towards an impeachment vote. More bad news for Trump us public support for impeachment is rallying thanks to the alleged quid-pro-quo with Ukraine and other criminal accusations.

On Thursday, the arrest of two Urkrainian businessmen put the spotlight on Rudy Giuliani. Along with possible impeachment, Trump also faces a faltering U.S. economy. Our national drama aside, there are also the continued protests in Hong Kong, a Maricopa County official accused of adoption fraud and power outage woes in California. In today’s podcast, John Guzzon and Karen Weil discuss yet another crazy news week.
